They also sent out a fabricator who measured precisely for our new Quartz countertop. All was included in the price. Even the plumbers!
We may have been able to get the job done a little cheaper, but using them is “one stop shopping”. They are responsible for the entire job! No passing off any issues to different contractors. We are so happy we chose Sparta Trades and look forward to having them update our bathroom soon. read less

Probably, but I believe that out of fast, good, and cheap, you can only pick two and I am in the camp of fast and good, both of which have reliability at their core. The most impressive aspect of working with Sparta Trades was the fact that they did what they said they would do exactly when they said they would do it, with almost military precision...sure, you should expect this from any service, but after the tales I've heard from friends and neighbors, apparently it doesn't happen as often as it should. Not all general contractors coordinate & follow through with scheduling the work & ensuring it is being done properly. Robin though, never let anything get out of her control. Needless to say, when embarking on work this extensive, with workers in your home for a couple of months, not to mention the expense involved, we had a considerable amount of anxiety as the project started. However, I can report that Sparta Trades handled this project more smoothly than we could have hoped for......they basically presented a schedule & timeframe for each portion of the project, and EVERYTHING was done right on time in a highly professional manner, and any follow ups that were required were handled very promptly, to our 100% satisfaction. I also want to say that the on-site manager for our project was simply outstanding. Always on time, always polite (and we had a LOT of questions along the way), and went out of his way to make certain everything was done exactly as we wanted. Bottom line is that we embarked on an extensive project with Sparta Trades, and the final result was even better than we had envisioned. From our first visit to their showroom until the completion of our project; Chet, Robin and their staff were a pleasure to work with. They were personable, yet professional and very knowledgeable in their field. Throughout the duration, Chet and Robin were personally involved with no detail left unattended. Their follow through was amazing!
Just recently we had called on an issue with the shower door seal (We were instructed to reach out to the shower door installers directly when the doors were put in). We couldn’t get anywhere because of Covid-19. We suspected that the company was shut down or else working on minimum hours. We reached out to Chet and Robin to see if they could help us out. Robin got through to the installers and set up a service call which took place shortly thereafter. It wasn’t their responsibility, but they acted on it anyway. That is true service and follow through!

We liked Sparta Trades’ turnkey approach as we did not have the skill set required to shop around and pick our own tiles, shower doors, faucets, etc. Judi was instrumental in our decision and took the time to show us coordinated options.

The work that Sparta Trades did was exceptional. Dennis, the Project Manager, was a great communicator and made sure everything was perfect. If you were to look at the bathrooms today, you would be amazed that they are over 12 years old. The workmanship is superior and it’s stood the test of time. The only thing we’ve done since the remodeling was to have the white grout between our white floor tiles steam cleaned and resealed. It looks like new again. That’s amazing considering there were three people using this bathroom every day (I’m the lucky one with my own bathroom…). The grout in the shower looks as it did the day they finished.

Based on the exceptional work of the bathrooms, we decided to go right onto our kitchen remodeling in 2007. We had a kitchen and a separate formal dining room that we didn’t feel met our needs. Sparta Trades designed a beautiful kitchen for us - knocking down the wall between the rooms and creating a larger functional kitchen for our young family. Our oldest is now in college and, looking back, the layout of our kitchen allowed it to be the center point of our daily activities - meals, social time, studying, etc. We are so very much appreciative that we did this project at the time we did and even more appreciative of the quality of the work. Sparta Trades designed a beautiful opening in the ceiling and added a skylight in the roof. We’ve added color changing lights to this space that we alternate with the different holidays. To date, we’ve done absolutely nothing in our kitchen since the remodel and we are still elated with the results. read less

Upgrades ran the gamut from new windows and doors to new plumbing, electrical... read moreSparta Trades transformed my tired, 1952 ranch into a smart, bright and up-to-date 2008 model home. Upgrades ran the gamut from new windows and doors to new plumbing, electrical and insulation. The kitchen was completely transformed with all new cabinets, a vaulted ceiling and Palladian window. An old double-hung side window was replaced with a beautiful Anderson sliding door that opens onto a new mahogany deck, 18’ x 18’. An old kitchen radiator was replaced with radiant heat in the floor.

The front wall of the living room was pushed out 5’ giving us much needed space for entertaining family and friends. Wall-to-wall carpet was removed revealing the original hardwood floors that were beautifully refinished.

Internal walls were moved which allowed a small powder room to become a full in-suite bath. Whole house AC was installed and cast iron baseboard heat was refurbished. Steps to the front entrance were removed and replaced with a grade-level walkway to the front door.

The brick chimney was refaced with stone and the aluminum siding replaced with new vinyl around the whole house. Extensive drainage work eliminated a damp basement.

The best part of all, though, was that Sparta Trades handled everything so that we did not have to worry about whom to hire, when to schedule the work, and how to deal with surprises (and there are always surprises). We knew we were in good hands. We are so happy with the result. read less

They not only were extremely professional, but also prided themselves in work well done. If anything was not what was expected, they were on top of it to make us happy! Robin did an amazing job helping us to pick out the faucets, counter tops, flooring, etc out of a myriad of options! The construction team was courteous and respectful and took great care in minimal “disturbing” of the household flow. The quality was excellent. They were true to their word. They even finished earlier than expected! I would definitely recommend them! read less

From concept to completion these people were great! They are there with you through the entire process, from design to installation. We were very happy with the results!

Chet and Robin helped me to design a beautiful bathroom layout which made the best use of my space. I could not be in NJ very much but they consistently stayed in touch to keep me posted of every step of the process. Their advice was invaluable and they were always available to answer my many, many questions while never making me feel awkward about having them. Their contractor Rich, electrician Jeff and plumber Bill also could not have been nicer or more helpful. They have done three bathroom renovations for us -- 2003 was the first-floor guest bathroom (and the tile floor in the entry hallway to our home); 2011 was the main bathroom (which included adding a beautiful stained glass window); 2016 was the master bathroom (which included safety ideas for an older person). All jobs over all the years were carried out with excellent professionalism on the part of the designers and the carpenters. All design ideas were outstanding -- your ideas were listened to and improved upon in a thoughtful manner (they know all the items available that you might not know exist). All construction work was carried out in a way to keep your home and furnishings (and pets!) safe and clean. Follow up throughout the entire process was wonderful and timely -- you are kept in the loop at all times. Everyone is friendly, courteous and respectful. The work done in 2003 looks as new and beautiful as the day it was completed (also the 2011 work!). I'm certain the 2016 work will also stay looking great. Can't say enough good things about Sparta Trades. We picked a real winner to do our work. Check them out -- you won't be disappointed! read less
